Koddamunai is one area of Batticaloa town. It offers a good choice of shops to the visitor, including Batticaloa’s Market and the governmental Handloom & Handicraft sales centre. Most of the banks and ATM are situated in this area, especially on Bar Road and Trincomalee Road. Koddamunai has also numerous schools and religious buildings, such as several Hindu Temples and some Churches.
From the market area, walk along the Lady Manning drive, indulge in a refreshing fruit juice of lassi in Café Chill, then proceed further on Pioneer Road to admire the huge Vaahai trees.
By simply crossing ” the white bridge”, you can access Puliyanthivu‘s area.
Just before Kallady bridge, a turn on the left will allow you to start a nice bicycle ride around Sinna Uppodai lagoon towards Palameenmadu.
