Passikudah and Kalkudah Beaches

White sand, shallow waters, coral reefs and palm trees make Passikudah and Kalkudah beaches idyllic places to spend the day on the seaside. Passikudah Bay’s shallow waters offer a perfectly safe environment for learning how to swim and therefore a popular bathing spot for families with children.

There are also possibilities to snorkel, to fish and have some boat rides around, with a number of water sports operators available on the beach.

Walking on Passikudah Beach towards the left side of the bay will lead you to Elephant Rock, a stunning area to enjoy a peaceful bath with your loved ones, with sand, coral and rocks, near to the Maduru Oya river Estuary.

On the right side of Passikudah Bay, Kalkudah Beach offers deeper waters and more waves on a nearly deserted sandy beach, for sea lovers eager to stay far from the crowd.
