Puliyanthivu

Puliyanthivu is a part of Batticaloa town, situated on an island. In Puliyanthivu, you will find many historical places such as the old schools (St Michael’s college, Vincent Girls’ High School, the Methodist Central college, etc.), some religious buildings (St Mary’s Cathedral, Jami-Us-Salam Jummah Masjid, etc.), as well as many governmental buildings (municipal council, post office, public library, general hospital, main bus stand, etc.), and famous places such as the Batticaloa gate, Weber stadium, etc.

The Dutch Fort is also situated in Puliyanthivu.

Puliyanthivu shelters a children park and is an ideal place for shopping around the Clock Tower.

You can also choose to relax on the lagoon side near Batticaloa gate, or have a boat ride on the lagoon.

By simply crossing “the white bridge”, you will find yourself in Koddamunai and be close to Batticaloa’s market.
