Ready for a bicycle ride towards Palameenmadu? Start near Kallady Bridge. Turn on Munich Vittoria Friendship Road. Observe fishermen, fishing boats, wildlife, birds as you proceed along the lagoon. Have a small break under a refreshing shade of a coconut tree. Then proceed up to Palameenmadu area, where you might be able to climb Batticaloa’s Lighthouse, visit the Batticaloa Lagoon Environmental Resource Centre and its Ecopark, have a nice view on the estuary, walk on the beach, and even buy nice souvenirs in the Palmyrah Development Board Sales Center. You can also visit Bone Island by taking an engine boat near the lighthouse.
